Trick Or Treat!

Here in Ohio we had Trick or Treat Night on the 29th. Each community sets it's own date for Trick or Treating and they never hold it on a Friday or Saturday night. So last night we were all dressed up and ready.

Claire was a wicked witch and Sarah was Minnie Mouse. They did really well. Sarah was excited that people kept giving her candy and she had to show me every piece she got.

Claire was ready to go this year. I told her she could go as long as she wanted and had energy for. She kept going and going until about 1 1/2 hours. She then declared herself exhausted.

The funniest part of the night was when a lady holding her crying baby answered the door and after getting candy, Claire apologized for scaring her baby since she was such a scary witch.

The rewards of their labors.

The loot. Wow, I'm sure the dentist will be thrilled.

Boo At The Zoo

We have been very excited waiting for Halloween to roll around. Back in my parents day it was a one day event. Luckily for us Halloween in 2009 is a week long festivity. We kicked things off with a trip to Boo At The Zoo!

Claire is a wicked witch this year and has perfected her loud witch cackle and repeats the Wizard of Oz line 'I'll get you my pretty' over and over and over. Sarah is Minnie mouse in a cute red dress. We met up with our friend McKenna who is also Minnie Mouse. Not only are they a match we saw about 20 other Minnie Mouse's - the costume to be in 2009.

Dad and McKenna's dad Ken got into the Halloween spirit by dressing as twins (again). Seriously, do they call to coordinate outfits?

We tackled the toddler hay maze. Sarah was quite proud that she could do it all by herself!

The witch, complete with hastily applied green makeup and black nailpolish. Hopefully she gets the goth look out of her system while she is still young.

Well Halloween has officially kicked off and we are ready to consume large quantities of candy. Tuesday we carve pumpkins, Wednesday is the library party, Thursday is Trick or Treat night in Columbus and on Saturday we have a Halloween Party and a play to see!

Boo!

Fall Hike

We have been having a week of beautiful warm weather so we decided to enjoy it and head out on a fall nature hike. As you can see we were excited to get going.

Mom was not sure we could tackle this trail, but we assured her we could do it. She explained that she couldn't carry us both back - we had to walk it.

Posing on a little bridge we found. Sarah of course wouldn't smile and gave us her grumpy face.

We found a great train bridge over Darby Creek. As predicted we didn't make it around the whole trail, but we made it around portions of three different trails. (Mom had to carry Sarah and bribe her with snacks.)

Posing in front of the river.

Exhausted or last chance to soak up some fall sun?

Pumpkin Patch

It is October and that means time to take a trip to the Pumpkin Patch. We have been going to Leeds Farm every year since we were born. Sarah posing amongst the pumpkins.

This year we ventured through the corn maze. As you can see we had a few disagreements about which way to go. We did finally make it out.

Sarah was getting a little tired and rode some of the way.

Ahhh...playing in the cornbox. A box filled with corn instead of sand.

Look at these yellow trucks. What do they do? Fun to play with toys we don't have at home.

Sarah under her corn blanket.

Dad even tried the zip line. You have to be 6 to go on so Claire was not impressed.

Riding the dirt bikes.

Playing in the hay, getting messy. What the pumpkin patch is all about.

After a few years of not wanting to feed the goats, Claire was willing and excited to feed them again.

Sarah not so much....

Growing like weeds.

We had a great cold trip to the pumpkin patch and are now all ready for Halloween! Next weekend is Boo At The Zoo where we get to wear our costumes!

Biker Babes

We are both growing fast and ready for new adventures. Sarah is now tall enough to ride the tricycle and Claire has been begging us for a two wheeler so we finally relented and went shopping.

Sarah got a new pink helmet for her riding adventures. Snap it on and she was off.

Freedom! Which way to the park?

Claire sporting her new safety gear. Rainbow Brite was ready to get going.

First time on the new princess bike.

She loves it!

Below is a little video of Claire's first bike ride, including her first fall. Like a champ she gets back on and keeps riding. Looks like Dad is going to have some company on his bike rides soon.

Well it has been awhile since our last post. September was a very busy month for us. First Mom & Dad went to Greece and we had a great vacation with Grandma & Grandpa C. Then a few days after we got home Dad had to go to Japan. We had a long 8 rainy days at home awaiting his return.

What does it mean when Dad gets home from a trip? That's right presents!! We closed our eyes and waited patiently.

Who loves presents? We Do!!

Sarah modeling some of the new clothes Dad brought. The latest in fall fashions from Japan.

Claire took a little convincing that it was okay to wear colours other than pink and purple, but once the dress was on she loved it.

We are all glad to be back home together again and looking forward to lots of fun fall activities!
